ACT recognise that if an employee does a job with good results or has worked above and beyond then that needs to be rewarded they do this with financial bonuses. Those staff will also be praised in the staff newsletter. The company also rewards ideas or innovation with Dragons Den an inititive that rewards any ideas that are used.
At Act all managers undertake apprenticeships in management, including NVQ and an ILM qualification in management, all Assessors and tutors receive PGCE/ETOL (intro into teaching). All administration staff take apprenticeships in administration or finance. They also offer training in Welsh at work, Health and Safety, ESDGC awareness, handling challenging behaviour, child protection, performance management and effective proposal and effective strategic planning for Senior managers. Peer assessments also take place, where an experienced member of staff observes another member of staff and feedback is given for development or sharing of good practice.
Good team work is promoted with staff development days these could combine a company presentation, workshops and fun activities followed by an evening’s socialising funded by the company. Good team work is rewarded with funded days out or meals and throughout the year the company comes together for race days, seasonal meals, bowling nights and spa treatments to name but a few.
