AAT understand the importance of supporting and developing people managers within the organisation and as such new managers are paired up with more experienced managers in a different division to provide knowledge and guidance. People with development areas are also assigned a coach with specific objectives to achieve through the external coaching programme. Managers are also provided with guides to maternity leave, disciplinaries and managing probation periods.
The organisation run in-house bespoke programmes throughout the year that all employees attend such as performance management and the aat way which describes the level of service they offer their members. They also use external facilitators and actors but always have an AAT representative present to show it's an AAT initiative. Employees are also supported through formal qualifications such as CIPD, CIM and CIMA. In addition, employees are given time off for study leave and for exams.
The Leader and senior management team within AAT are very open and approachable to all employees throughout the organisation regardless of grade. Senior managers sit in the open plan office and only two people within the organisation sit in offices. The company also have regular company briefings as well as the quarterly company meetings to ensure all employees are kept informed of the company's latest news.
